I was feeling really stupid for a long while, mostly because I forgot what the P-47 was called, and then it hit me.

Like me the other day.
I was wondering why does it look like the Frisbee is getting larger the closer it gets to me, then it hit me.

There’s approximately 41% too much sexy in that picture. I can’t stand it. I believe that picture contains 12 or even 14 .50 cal machine guns and over 6,000 horsepower... My happy place

12 .50s and one 20mm. And depending on variant 5,800hp. Enough to wake the dead I’d think..
My old boss flew the Jug (and the Mustang) in WW2, and his first combat mission was on D-Day. Needless to say he had some amazing stories.

For some reason, I was thinking the the Jug ran eight 50's. Like six ain’t enough, lol!

8 .50s on the Jug, 4 on the Lightning - with the cannon. All other US fighters had to make do (!) with six. Early Wildcats had four.
